Back to the real world!
WOW - What a hectic week. I crashed back into reality on Monday with a thud, only to be welcomed by the news that we're now down a man... So what does that mean?? In short - Now i'm really busy!!
But on a much more up-beat note, I had some really positive meetings with our global team and there are some great products coming our way over the next few months and some exciting new directions for the business this year - very exciting times, I must say. Stay tuned for some sneak peaks in the next week or two...
I'll try to get back to normal programming here and give you a weekly update of all the wonderful goings on in the world of Kensington.

Got stuck in a lift at CES today
So today I got stuck in a lift!! Here's how it went... We all got in - the lift was full. Lift stops and 2 people get out, so 4 people try to jam their way in... off we go again. Lift stops and 2 more people get out, so this time 6
people decide they're going to squeeze and push their way in. The doors close and the lift drops about 1 foot... then nothing. Panic panic panic from a few people in their and we sit their ringing the alarm for about 5 minutes, jammed in like sardines, not able to move at all until the doors eventually open and everyone jumps out - remember we're about a foot below the actual level! Not the most pleasant of experiences...
Anyway, the last couple of days have been flat out here at CES. Las Vegas is just about at capacity and our meeting schedules have been about the same. We've had some great meetings with key partners, ensuring everything is on track for us to deliver the best products and service to you, our consumers, through 2010. So far, I
've barely managed to get over to the convention centre to check out the show floor yet, as we've been holed up in our suites at the Venetian with partners. As prommised, here are a couple of pics of our suites.
This will all change tomorrow and i'll be out on the show floor to see what great new tech is newly out and to scout for any opportunities to provide our customers and consumers with everything they want and need to get the most out of their devices. Tomorrow, I'll make sure I get some snaps of the show for you, so you can see how crazy it is and just how many people are here - It's pretty hard to comprehend it until you actually see it.
Check back in tomorrow for the latest!

Day 1 of my CES trip
OK, so it's actually day 2 of my trip, but i'm counting yesterday as day 0 after my 30 odd hours of no sleep left me in a kind of delirious and dazed state.
My first impression of Vegas is
WOW
.
It was put to me by someone today, that Vegas is the mirage of america. Try to touch a wall your hand will just go straight through it. Sounds very sci-fy movieish, but when you look at the city and walk the streets, it really isn't all that far fetched!! This place is crazy - buildings, hotels and casinos more imaginative and extravagant than you would ever think possible, people everywhere and some outrageous handouts from people on the streets... If you've ever been here, you'll know exactly what I mean!
After my day of battling the effects of the long flight and lack of sleep yesterday, today was much more productive. This morning I met up with the rest of the US and global teams we had a walk-through of our 3 suites at The Venetian for the show, and let me tell you, there are some great products coming your way in the first half of 2010 - particularly accessories for the iPhone. If you're not an iPhone fanboy (or girl), don't worry as there is plently coming for other smartphones as well, especially those using the Android platform. The suites are decked out with product samples, handouts, video demos and some nice new merchandising stands - I'll try to get some pictures of them up for you tomorrow.
We followed up the walk-through with a sales and planning meeting, so everyone is up to speed on all the new products and messaging and shortly we're off for a team dinner to kick off the week!
I'm off now, but i'll try to give you daily updates and set up a CES photo gallery, so you can see everything that's going on over here.
Until next time...
VIVA LAS VEGAS!

Its been a crazy week here at Kensington closing out the year and preparing for my US trip (I know you're all jealous!). Organising, organising and more organising, but i've got everything sorted now and all the loose ends tied up. The next time you hear from me I'll be coming to you LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS, with all the news, highlights and goings on of Sin City... erm I mean CES.
So from all the team here at Kensington, have a very merry christmas and a great holiday period!
See you all back here bright eyed and bushy tailed for a bumper year in 2010!

Welcome to the new Kensington blog
Welcome to the shiny brand spanking, shiny new Kensington Blog!
First off - Here's a little about just who this mysterious person behind the Kensington name is...
Well my name is Sam Goldstein (HELLO!) and aside from being the voice/brains/imagination or whatever you want to call it behind the
@KensingtonAU
Twitter account and now the Kensington Blog, I'm the product manager for Kensington here in Australia. My job is essentially to get all of the awesome Kensington products you know and love to market and take care of of the marketing for them... Outside of work I'm a sports nut with a mild gadget addiction, who loves to travel. I'm sure none of you really care, but here's a picture of me anyway.
Now what's the big idea of this blog????
Well it all started because (lucky me!), I'm off to the USA in January to attend the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and I thought it would be great to share the highlights of my trip and the show with all of you loyal Kensingtonians! But this got me thinking (yes it hurt)... and I thought, why not share all of the highlights from behind the scenes here at Kensington? So starting bright and fresh in January 2010, we'll be keeping you more in the loop with new products, how to get the most out of your Kensington products and I'll even introduce you to more of the Kensington team...
Don't stress, we'll have somewhere for all of you to make comments soon, but if you have anything to say or any suggestions in the meantime, feel free to let us know through the contact us section on the site - just click here
Until next time...
